For skilled migration applications including 491,189 and 190 visas you MUST have a valid skills assessment, have at least competent English and score at least 65 points. This entails as follows:
You can only claim Australian study points if you studied a minimum of 92 weeks over 16 calendar months in Australia (trade qualification or minimum diploma and higher)
You can claim the qualification points based on your highest qualification
You can only claim work experience points relevant to your nominated occupation
You can only claim work experience post qualification
If you are claiming points for specialist education qualification, it must be awarded from an Australian education institution after at least two academic years of study int eh following science, technology, engineering, mathematics or specified information and communication technology (ICT) fields.
To claim regional study points you must have at least one degree, diploma or trade qualification from an Australian education institution that satisfies the Australian study requirement obtained while living and studying in an eligible areas of regional Australia.
